REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicityWhat have you noticed about your purchases? Where are you inclined to make shifts, if any?

REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicityHow can you prevent yourself from accumulating more things in the future?
Rae Jeske 9/13/2018 12:06 PMA budget! I often find myself throwing things in my cart just because when shopping and then I get the total at the register and am feeling the pain. By keeping a budget, it forces me to think about if I really need to get my daughter one more toy or do I need to get myself a 15th pair of shoes. This also helps me to ask myself if I really need to buy something, because it wasn't a deal if I didn't need it in the first place.

REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodCanning and pickling food is a great way to have delicious summer fruits and vegetables all year round. Just make sure to follow the canning and pickling guidelines from the USDA. What are some foods that you would like to preserve and enjoy later in the year?
Rae Jeske 9/12/2018 9:08 AMI grew my own green beans, tomatoes, summer squash, and cucumbers this summer. We also have wild raspberry bushes on our property line. I will be canning tomatoes and have already started making pickles with the excess cucumbers to enjoy throughout the winter. I also plan to make raspberry jam with the abundance of raspberries we have.

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealthTo what extent do you believe that environmental factors contribute to your own health or issues with health?

REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodAn average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Does this surprise you? Where would you rather use this money?
