Missed a few days there, buried in garden harvest, canning, drying, making jams...one of our cats went missing...gonna get back on track tomorrow.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Water Conserve Toilet Water
What would a sustainable water future in your region look like? What needs to change?

We have been in drought much of the last few years here in Northern California, and we are in the thick of wine country.  More consciousness about water conservation for the vineyards and other businesses would be one huge step.  Gray water systems for watering gardens and landscaping as well as more native drought free plantings would be part of the plan as well.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Choose Two-Sided Printing
Choosing two-sided printing can be an easy adjustment on your computer settings. How can you help others make this same switch? Can it be encouraged company wide?

Since I am a solo practitioner, I can't make a "company wide" effort but I can pass the idea along to friends and family. I am currently gathering old printed out articles and documents I no longer need and using the blank side of them for my daily handwritten client notes at the office.

How does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?

This question reminds me of what Mario Martinez, in his book Mind-Body Code, speaks of as the distinction between wealth and abundance.  It helps me remember the enormous abundance of beauty, relationships, and spiritual purpose that fill my life.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Keep a Nature Journal
What natural gifts are you grateful for?

I am especially grateful for the amazing abundance of my garden and of this small piece of land I have been in relationship with for over thirty years.  I'm grateful for the beautiful little hummingbirds who grace my porch feeders and the flowers I plant for them.  I'm grateful for the starry night sky and the changing face of the moon that I have watched move across this particular stretch of sky for almost half my lifetime.

How can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?

I am an avid year round gardener, so my relationship with nature and exercise are often totally intertwined.
