Community Support Businesses Owned by People of Color
Keen Independent Research Foundation conducted a recent study that highlights the disparities in the availability of city contracts and loans to businesses, and how this disparity correlates to owners as people of color. The study showed that Minority businesses enterprises (MBEs) are more likely to have difficulties in receiving loans or city contracts. In what ways can you address systemic racism?

This is truly a challenge in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont but I am seeking opportunities in my broader community by including the cities of St. Johnsbury, Littleton, NH, and Montpelier/Barre in my efforts.

Sharing economy with friends, family and community allows me to focus on the things I do well and to enrich my life by honoring what others bring to,the table. By trading pepppers for herbs with a neighbor we both enrich what is cooking in our kitchen and have a deeper feeling of our connectednes. By helping our son create a beautiful home for his family we also create a place that we truly will always feel a part of.
