Julie's actions
Health
Happiness
I will write down three things every day that I am grateful for, or send one email every day thanking or praising someone.
Nature
Go for a Daily Walk
I will take a 15-minute walk outside each day.
Waste
Skip the Straw
Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Julie Kuhn 10/22/2018 7:03 AMStarted my beach body yoga, my first purchase through a commercial LOL. I have to say, it is a great beginner program for yoga. Nice addition to my treadmill. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth HappinessHow does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?
Julie Kuhn 10/16/2018 3:20 PMWhen things around you seem to be falling apart and out of sorts, taking the time to list a few things that you are grateful for can calm your mind and make you realize there are many wonderful things in your life despite the hardships. -

I love that my grandkids enjoy being outside with me and not spending all their time on electronic devices or TV. -
Julie Kuhn 10/11/2018 9:35 AMOnce again I must do my outdoor walk by looking out the window as I walk on the treadmill. Only 4 days of rain, snow, cold and I am already wanting spring! -
Julie Kuhn 10/10/2018 9:19 AMSo my walk outside had to be on a treadmill with a view of the outside as it is cold and rain mixed with snow. For us mature adults (age 66) not the safest for me to walk outside and I am a "wimpy, winter woman" :)-
Monica Martin 10/11/2018 11:24 AMStill getting it done! It's good to know our limits.

Julie Kuhn 10/03/2018 2:05 PMI went to get a cold drink and forgot about the straw! I will not do that again....
