Megan Lange 10/23/2018 7:28 AMWhen this was happening last year I was so new to the company I wasn't sure if it was something I could handle at the time. I am glad I was able to participate this year. Even though I could not choose some of the actions I wanted to try I feel that I definitely made a difference. This experience has opened my eyes up in a big way of how I use our resources and the best way to use the R's in helping our community and environment. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Choose LED BulbsChanging lightbulbs is an excellent first step toward energy efficiency! In what other ways can you exercise your civic duty to protect the environment and reduce carbon emissions?
Megan Lange 10/23/2018 7:23 AMI can help reduce Carbon emissions by carpooling, biking or using public transportation. I can also replace my windows, update my heating and cooling systems so then in the winter or summer my house is running more efficiently and will allow the heat or cool air to stay within the home. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Switch to Cold WaterWhat do you plan to do with the money you save from making more energy efficient choices?
Megan Lange 10/23/2018 7:20 AMI will most likely use the extra money towards my savings or my food budget. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Buy From a Farmers MarketWhat is one food choice that you make, or could make, that would do more good and less harm?
Megan Lange 10/22/2018 7:54 AMOver the weekend I went out to our local farms and was able to pick up some farm fresh eggs, milk, and some locally grown fruit and vegetables. With all of these items I am able to make breakfast and prep my lunches for the whole week. I'm doing less harm by purchasing locally, only buying what is needed so there are no leftover food scraps, and I used my reusable bag to prevent anymore plastic going into our environment. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Skip the StrawHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?
Megan Lange 10/16/2018 7:51 AMI reduce the amount of food scraps I have while cooking by only purchasing the amount of food I need per recipe. I own plenty of reusable bags for shopping. I refuse straws when I am out. I use the metal straw I received earlier this year. I try my best to recycle as much as possible. -
Megan Lange 10/12/2018 10:46 AMI picked Meditate, try to meditate for 15 minutes a day. I have begun to notice the difference in my stress levels by just putting in the effort to make sure I have time to relax and clear my mind. I am very happy with how things are going so far. -
Megan Lange 10/10/2018 2:09 PMOne of the daily Challenges I picked was to Avoid Refined Sugar. Starting this has really opened my eyes to how much sugar I actually eat in one day. My energy has definitely fallen but i'm determined to keep this going. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Go get a check upHow do you practice self care?
Megan Lange 10/04/2018 7:36 AMHygiene is a must. Not only keeping clean is healthy but they relax your mind and body. There is all types of shower/bath products that clean and relax you restless mind and achey body. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Know My healthHow do you deal with the physical and emotional stress of the big problems we face? How can you help others cope?
Megan Lange 10/04/2018 7:32 AMBreathing I feel is the number one coping mechanism we have. It's simple yet effect to help you put things in perspective. Think of it as with each breath you are letting go of all that stress and bad energy/thoughts. Once you have that cleared, you are able to focus better on what is most important. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity MeditateWhat would you like to invest more time in reflecting on?
Megan Lange 9/27/2018 12:42 PMI want to invest more time in de-stressing myself. Majority of the time I, myself, am unaware of how stressed out I am until I am told so by someone else. I don't handle stress well and when I am able to press that pause button I can really look and think about how I am reacting to my day to day duties.
