Jena Levy 10/24/2018 2:50 PMI can't believe it's the last day of the ecochallenge! it's been a great couple of weeks. I wish I would have completed more, but feel good about what I was able to accomplish. Great job everyone! -
Jena Levy 10/15/2018 11:11 PMI just finished the first episode of the series, Rotten—a six-part Netflix docuseries. It was incredible. The first episode covered the romance of bee keeping. This unfortunately included the illegal import of Chinese honey and the adulteration of honey, which includes added syrup fillers. Ugh! Moreover, the episode discussed the migration of bees to California in the winter to pollinate almond trees; and bee heists, which happen more than you would think. The show was sad, but informative. Looking forward to the next five episodes! -
Jena Levy 10/15/2018 8:52 PMI had a hard time completing challenges this past weekend, but looking forward to a new week! -
Jena Levy 10/12/2018 7:04 PMDay 12. My challenges have been harder to accomplish while I've been in Boston, but today and yesterday I started to hit my groove. I've been reusing an empty glass san pelligrino bottle for water, and carry my larger purse around to put purchases in. I also have made a point to get those 20 minutes of exercise in—which has been absolutely the hardest part. I took public transportation all over boston today, and although that's not one of my challenges, it felt fitting! -
Jena Levy 10/10/2018 7:35 PMDay 1 of EcoChallenge Travel edition went better as expected. I ALMOST completed all of my challenges! I forgot my reuseable water bottle at home, so instead of not drinking any water (not a good idea), I opted for a plastic water bottle. I did however, get in a late night hotel work-out session and didn't accept a plastic bag for my airport lunch!! -
Jena Levy 10/09/2018 3:00 PMDay 7!! WooHoo! I'm traveling this week, so looking forward to checking off challenges outside of my usual routine. Hopefully I can keep up!! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Audit Toxic Cleaning Products in my HomeTo what extent do you believe that environmental factors contribute to your own health or issues with health?
Jena Levy 10/07/2018 8:04 PMBy doing this research, I learned that environmental factors contribute to my health in ways I never even knew about or would have though of. It was overwhelming at first to read about all of the potential side effects of exposure, but now I feel more educated and in a better position to make healthier decisions moving forward. -
Jena Levy 10/07/2018 8:00 PMI spent a lot of time today researching toxic cleaning and beauty products today. During an audit of what I use at home, I realized that most all of my makeup is pretty clean—certified organic. I do use a lot of toxic cleaning products though, so today I whipped up a batch of DIY multi-purpose cleaner! -
