Waste
Reduce Single-Use Disposables
Bringing your own bags and containers to the grocery store, and even to restaurants for leftovers, are a couple of ways to reduce your waste. What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?
I have all the reusable products to enable me to never need to use single use plastic. My problem is that I often find myself stopping while I'm out to save time and gas. These spur of the moment stops cause me to have to take some single use plastics.
I have decided to make 2 "sustainability" packs. One for each car. I'll start with one of the Costco cooler bags, add 5 reusable bags, 3 cloth napkins (1 for each family member), 1 or 2 reusable cups, and 1 large collapsible food container. They will serve as my spur of the moment readiness kits! Saving me from having to take single use plastic and freeing up space in my home😀 I just have to remember to restock once pack items have been used.
