Karen's actions
Health
Learn About Local Environmental Justice Concerns
I will spend 60 minutes researching environmental justice concerns in my region, their causes, and local initiatives to address these concerns.
Health
Exercise Daily
Exercise is a great stress blaster! I will exercise for 30 minute(s) each day.
Health
More Fruits and Veggies
I will eat a heart healthy diet by adding 2 cup(s) of fruits and vegetables each day to achieve at least 4 cups per day.
Waste
Choose Two-Sided Printing
I will save up to .21 lbs (.09 kg) of paper each day by switching from one-sided printing to two-sided.
Energy
Adjust the Thermostat
I will adjust my thermostat down 2 degrees from usual when I use the heat, and up 2 degrees when I use air conditioning.
Waste
Reduce Single-Use Disposables
Historically, marginalized and low-income communities live closer to landfills, contributing to a multitude of health problems. I will find out how I can limit single-use items and do my best to limit the waste I generate.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Karen Mckenny 10/08/2018 7:28 AMReducing single use items is key and I also found these great reusable package wraps instead of using plastic wrap for left overs. -
Karen Mckenny 10/08/2018 7:08 AMNow the days and nights are getting cooler and the heat is on I have programmed by thermostats. If you don't have programmable thermostats yet I encourage you to get some. They will help you save a ton of money and energy!
