Katelyn Miller 10/17/2018 7:26 AMI chose to take shorter showers, 5 minute showers, to reduce my water footprint, and also to reduce my energy consumption. So far, my challenges are still difficult to do, but I'm becoming more accustomed to the challenge and which parts are a little harder, and which parts I have to work more in depth on. For example, turning off the water when I brush my teeth was an easy change, but transitioning from 20 minute showers to 5 minute showers was really hard. It's still really hard everyday, but I'm managing. Turning off my fan and all my lights and my TV when I leave my room is a really easy fix, it's just that sometimes I forget to remember to do that, so that's the hard part about it. Along with reducing my water footprint, I haven't used more than one plastic water bottle since this challenge has started, so that's really good for me. So far my challenge is still difficult, but I'm managing. -
Katelyn Miller 10/09/2018 6:07 AMThe challenge I picked was to reduce my energy consumption and to reduce my water footprint. I chose this because it will be very challenging for me to stop using as much water and energy as I normally do. In order to not use so much energy, I will shut my fan off during the day when I'm not at home and I will turn off my power strip and turn off my laptop and my tv when I'm not home. In order to reduce water consumption or my water footprint, I will take shorter showers, i will turn off the water when I brush my teeth, and I will only do my laundry when I absolutely have to. I've been doing this challenge for a week now, and so far it's been really challenging because sometimes I forget to shut my things off and still have trouble taking shorter showers, but I have shut the water off when I brush my teeth, every time, so that's good.
