Andrew Milner
"Our world is in peril. Gaia, the spirit of the Earth, can no longer stand the terrible destruction plaguing our planet. She gives five magic rings to five special young people. From Africa, Kwame with the power of earth. From the North America, Wheeler with the power of fire. From the Soviet Union, Linka with the power of wind. From Asia, Gi with the power of water and from South America, Ma-Ti with the power of heart. With the five powers combined they summon earth's greatest champion - CAPTAIN PLANET!"

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Support Pollution ReductionWhat environmental factors affect human health in your region, and how do they affect it?
Andrew Milner 10/24/2018 3:26 PMAir and water pollution are big environmental factors hat affect the pacific northwest. They touch on a million different everyday things you probably never realized, from the quality of grown produce to the health of seafood you may eat to the functioning of your own immune system. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Go PaperlessReducing your paper mail can be such a freeing action to take -- by reducing what is coming in, you can reduce what is going into the recycling bin too. How does it make you feel? What is the next step you will take to reduce your waste?
Andrew Milner 10/24/2018 1:33 PMReducing my paper waste makes me feel JAZZY. MY next step is to call up the credit card companies and coupon companies to stop that junk mail too. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Find Local Recycling DepotsOur ability to recycle certain things ebbs and flows based upon many factors. Luckily there are places that accept uncommon things to recycle or dispose of in a less harmful way. What did you find when looking for places to recycle items that can't be recycled in your curbside bin?
Andrew Milner 10/24/2018 1:25 PMI found that there are TONS OF PLACES I can get rid of things like glass and batteries that I never knew existed. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Weekly Meal PlanningAn average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Does this surprise you? Where would you rather use this money?
Andrew Milner 10/24/2018 11:57 AMUgh, no it doesn't surprise me. I used to work in catering where we would legally have to throw away food instead of donating it to the local homeless shelter. We wasted SO much. If we could put that food waste money into providing food for people who can't afford good or fresh food that would be such a game changer. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Explore My AreaHow can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place?
Andrew Milner 10/23/2018 8:48 AMThe more time you spend in nature the more respect you'll have for it, it's beauty, and it's danger. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity MeditateWhat would you like to invest more time in reflecting on?
Andrew Milner 10/23/2018 8:47 AMI'd like to spend more time reflecting on my career path and life goals before all of a sudden I'm 30-something with kids. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Healthy SleepConsider how many hours of sleep you get now. How would you like to shift your sleep patterns? What are you finding works for you to be successful in this action?
Andrew Milner 10/23/2018 8:46 AMI really need to get to sleep earlier. Late nights = rough mornings :/ -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Exercise DailyHow can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Go by BikeHow do your transportation choices affect your engagement in your community? Does your experience differ while walking, riding transit, biking or driving?
Andrew Milner 10/23/2018 8:45 AMThe more I bike the more I am directly engaged with my city. Transit and driving just aren't the same. -
