Tuhin Misri 10/19/2018 7:47 AMDay 17: Morning thought or recurrent thought from the depth of my mind, based on listening to the news about economy, growth, etc. No growth is permanent while we destroy our physical environment simultaneously, especially when there are ample examples of past civilizations, which have gone from boom to bust. On the contrary, we are in a position where knowledge garnered over millennia of science/technology advancements, which have made us aware of our nature's laws and how to leverage them for our comfort (not everything being sustainable though).
We have got to stop the rat race for more money to buy stuff and take a few steps back to focus on key elements needed for our survival as a species, which would imminently bring forth the importance of nature. On the other hand, science and technology is needed to garner further understanding of our cosmos, which may be helpful to our survival if there is a natural catastrophe (e.g. Dinosaur apocalypse- 65 M yrs back) that we could avoid rather than move to another planet and terraform it. -
