I am a bit of a recycling maven - having been a devotee of the cause for many years.  I even wrote a song called "Trash" which the City of Santa Monica uses for their Outreach Recycling Program.  I make sure each week to load in at least a layer of yard debris so I have a buffer on which to add my kitchen composting.

I, too, used to have one of those Metro recycling conical composters. It was a such a dismal failure for my lackadaisical (sp?) on-again/off-again composting efforts that I "recycled" it at curb side with a  FREE sign on it. The fellow who stopped and loaded it into his truck was SO happy! (So was I to get rid of it.) I even bought the long handled twister thing to aerate the compost. The whole design was quite unwieldy for me. Is it working for you?

Hey! I gotta hear that song! Will you do a performance? And if it teaches recycling in any way then I need it to present to some folks that don't know how to recycle in my household. They are kinda getting on my nerves a little.

I can't tell if my reply is going to you, Teri - ?  Anyway, yes, I have a cute red ceramic container in my kitchen that I empty into the green can.  I used to have one of those big black composters in my yard but I no longer use it

How FUN! Do you have a container of sorts for your composting? I just have a pile in my raspberry patch. I need something more structured...

To prepare a hefty biweekly packet of documents,. I naturally printed 2-sided (saving quite a bit of paper) :)
