REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Go PaperlessReducing your paper mail can be such a freeing action to take -- by reducing what is coming in, you can reduce what is going into the recycling bin too. How does it make you feel? What is the next step you will take to reduce your waste?
Carissa Morrison 10/07/2018 3:10 PMI think it is really nice too reduce using paper for things that we really do not need it for. My next step to reducing waste will be to find an alternative to doggy potty bags so I don't have to use so many plastic bags!-
Monica Martin 10/07/2018 3:48 PMThere's a company that makes bags that are flushable. (Don't do it if you have a septic tank) Apparently, this is the most environmentally friendly way to deal with dog poop.

REFLECTION QUESTIONWater Fix Leaky FaucetsFixing leaky faucets is one of the tasks that we can easily put off until later. Good job on completing this action! How will you use the momentum from completing this action to increase your water efficiency?
Carissa Morrison 10/07/2018 3:06 PMIt is nice to fix things on your own and I will use this momentum to start preparing for winter by covering my windows and fixing places that let in cold air so that I can use the heat less! -
Carissa Morrison 10/04/2018 8:53 AMThis challenge is going great! It's great to be able to incorporate such little things into my daily routine to help our planet! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Try a New Way to PrepCanning and pickling food is a great way to have delicious summer fruits and vegetables all year round. Just make sure to follow the canning and pickling guidelines from the USDA. What are some foods that you would like to preserve and enjoy later in the year?
-
Carissa Morrison 10/03/2018 1:00 PMI joined this challenge because I am new to apartment living (having utilities bills) and that makes me want to learn how I can save money and also take action to save our planet! The actions I chose have to do with walking more and saving on electricity which fit into saving money and our planet at the same time! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Drive LessHow has your access to various kinds of transportation throughout your life influenced your current attitudes about transportation and your transportation behavior?
Carissa Morrison 10/03/2018 12:55 PMIn high school I didn't have a car so I made a habit of walking to and from school and to anywhere else I needed to get. This has made me more willing to walk places while others choose to drive! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Exercise DailyHow can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?
Carissa Morrison 10/03/2018 12:53 PMMy boyfriend and I practice some fun Swing dancing moves together making exercising super fun! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Walk InsteadHalf of all trips made in the US are three miles or less; 72% of them are driven. Do you feel that this fact applies to you? If so, how might you incorporate more muscle-powered transportation in your daily life?
Carissa Morrison 10/03/2018 12:51 PMI feel like I walk unless there is a good enough reason not too. Walking or riding my bike are ways that I can cut down on using my car to go places that are near me. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use Reusable BagsWhat do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reuseable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to establish this a successful habit?
Carissa Morrison 10/03/2018 12:48 PMI have a big purse that I like to shove all my items in when I forget a reusable bag. Keep reusable bags in your car so that you can take them wherever you go!
