Uli Nagel 10/10/2018 2:44 PMSo far, I am really driving a lot less, using my tricycle instead whenever I can. But with the recent report out from the Intergovernmental Panel of scientists in climate change, I will contact my representatives much more often and advocate for a carbon fee - there are proposals out there that Republicans can sign onto and that might come up in the next legislative session. You can learn more if you go to Citizens' Climate Lobby or The Climate Leadership Council...we need bold government action.

REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Volunteer in my CommunityWhat is one thing you can do to help your community become more sustainable?
Uli Nagel 10/05/2018 4:31 PMTomorrow, I will volunteer at the local Botanical Garden Harvest Festival. After having spend last night with the "Treesisters" - check them out! - I am looking forward to helping reduce trash and being with the gorgeous trees there, those pillars of life, generosity and groundedness! -
Uli Nagel 10/03/2018 6:39 PMI am doing this challenge because I find this program so impressively well designed and am curious what it can do. I am active in several climate change-related groups and wonder whether individual actions can tip the scale at this point. This software moves me because it can connect so many people and is so beautifully designed - the uncertainty of our future needs to be held i connection and appreciation of beauty. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Spend Time OutsideRachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?
Uli Nagel 10/03/2018 6:15 PMit does ring true for me. We are of the earth and the universe not being in touch with her, smell her, breathe her, feel her on our skin leaves us depleted. being indoors does not necessarily have to mean that we are disconnected- doing yoga, breathing, being with a plant inside or a fruit, opening a window can blend the separation. Even petting a cat, hearing her purr, hugging a human being...there are many ways to find connection inside - but we need the connection to senses, life and also each other.
