    All things considered - the pollution and waste associated with mass consumerism. A recent study found that household consumption is responsible for up to 60 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions and between 50 and 80 percent of total land, material, and water use.

    Inspired by our "meet a farmer" green bag, I went to the King Farmers market this weekend and purchased a variety of veggies and a local hot sauce. Motivated by the text message reminder service, I'll be visiting the Pioneer Square farmers market this Wednesday to restock.

    How does food sovereignty address the complex agrarian transition to modern food systems?

    We need to start producing and supporting smaller, more diverse crops that allow access to local, healthy food systems. First steps are to shop at farmer's markets and support organizations that help people in need afford locally gown whole foods.

    Most definitely! A whole foods diet is the first step in preventative medicine.

    Last night some wonderful girlfriends and I went to Knot Springs Spa to "soak 'n sauna". I took a few minutes to meditate in the eucalyptus steam room. Afterwards I felt a total mind and body calm. Meditation success!
