Waste
Skip the Straw
Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 2 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.
Health
Happiness
I will write down three things every day that I am grateful for, or send one email every day thanking or praising someone.
Waste
Use Reusable Bags
I will not accept any disposable bags when making purchases.
Health
More Fruits and Veggies
I will eat a heart healthy diet by adding 1 cup(s) of fruits and vegetables each day to achieve at least 4 cups per day.
Food
Reduce Animal Products
I will enjoy 2 meatless meal(s) and/or 1 vegan meal(s) each day this week.

REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?
Tessa O'Neill 10/16/2018 8:36 AMI try to repurpose as much packaging that some of my food comes in for other purposes as I can. For example, I store some leftover or assorted items in my used and washed yogurt pint tubs. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteWhat do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reuseable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to establish this a successful habit?
Tessa O'Neill 10/03/2018 9:44 AMI have been in this situation before, even though I usually have a few bags in my trunk at all times. I usually opt for paper bags that I save and re-use at home or I use a box that stores like Aldi save and make available for customers for free.
