Annie's actions
Waste
Use a Reusable Water Bottle
I will keep 3 disposable plastic bottle(s) from entering the waste stream by using a reusable water bottle.
Waste
Skip the Straw
Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 3 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.
Water
5-Minute Showers
I will save up to 20 gallons (75 L) of water each day by taking 5-minute showers.
Energy
Turn it off
I will keep lights, electronics, and appliances turned off when not using them.

Annie Panico 10/16/2018 5:34 PMI like how I see more and more people without straws, and I wonder if La Crosse is going to decide to use paper straws instead. -
Annie Panico 10/11/2018 9:07 PMI like how the campus is starting to put more sustainability options into practice, such as biodegradable containers. -
Annie Panico 10/09/2018 5:45 PMI wish that it were sunnier out. The past couple weeks have been very cloudy, and I have been trying to find an opportunity to see a good sunset/sunrise. -
Annie Panico 10/08/2018 4:21 PMIt was interesting to notice how more and more people in the smoothie lines on campus are skipping using a straw. I think that this is slowly going to make a positive impact on our environment, as well as influence others to do the same. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?
Annie Panico 10/07/2018 1:23 PMBy using other reusable items, such as bags, water bottles, or containers, to avoid sending more trash to landfills. I think that straws are good place to start, but that we can do more as well. -
Annie Panico 10/04/2018 6:23 PMI avoided using a plastic water bottle today by using my own reusable water bottle! I notice a lot of people on campus try to avoid using plastic water bottles, which I think is great.
