REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Choose Organic IngredientsCan organic farming feed the world? Which side of the argument do you fall on? Why?
Barbara Peterson 10/25/2018 2:49 AMI believe that it can and we must make an effort. However if the earth’s population becomes completely out of balance with available land for resources, we have system failures in all areas of sustainability. Science is not magic. The ‘balance of nature’ provides a very neat and clean balanced equation for living a healthy and good life. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use Reusable BagsWhat do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reuseable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to establish this a successful habit?
Barbara Peterson 10/17/2018 1:44 AMI keep bags in my car, in my pantry and buy the front door. That doesn’t always work for the unplanned event. Keeping one in my purse would help solve that problem. I love shopping at ACE in Cocoa Beach. At the checkout, they ask if you would like to skip the bag!-
Barbara Peterson 10/21/2018 2:50 AMYes! The purse carriers are essential- adding that today. Also bringing several to our luncheon as my gifts to our group. (Not that we have to do gifts, but I want to) -
Beth Beek Blackford 10/17/2018 2:50 PMOne of the more notable arguments spouse & I have had is over shopping bags. Solution (at least for purse-carriers) : carry one very lightweight fold-up bag in purse or backpack for the impromptu purchase!

Barbara Peterson 10/17/2018 1:37 AMI love the concept of the ecochallenge! The act of changing or refocusing our habits, rolls over to our everyday lives throughout the year.-
Beth Beek Blackford 10/17/2018 2:50 PMMe too! This PLATFORM works so well for me.

REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Go for a Daily WalkFresh air and movement are good for our entire being and can help us think more clearly and creatively. How does taking a walk each day affect yourself and/or your work?
Barbara Peterson 10/17/2018 1:33 AMMy daily walk is usually to the grocery store these days. Frequent trips, allows me to buy only what is needed for the day. This may help my goals in buying fresh organic foods and not stocking up on sale items that I don’t need and sit on the shelf. Also, the short walk is interrupted with a visit with a neighbor that always lifts my spirits! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity MeditateWhat would you like to invest more time in reflecting on?
Barbara Peterson 10/17/2018 1:25 AMI would like to be more non-judgmental and accepting of those with differing positions. That behavior alienates others and makes it more difficult to help them make better choices in life. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity De-Clutter My HomeHow can you prevent yourself from accumulating more things in the future?
Barbara Peterson 10/05/2018 4:59 AMToday, I am attacking the seasonal decoration cupboard and my office drawers, ssorting out items that could be used for schoolrooms. By Monday, I should have a box of ‘good stuff’ for Recycle Brevard.-
Barbara Peterson 10/05/2018 5:04 AMI will not buy or accept cute, whimsical little items that do not fulfill a necessity. Our house is full of art from my children, grandchildren, husband and friends that I cherish. Those items I will keep and put names on for future dispersal. :-)
