Water

Say No to Plastic Straws

An estimated 71% of seabirds and 30% of turtles have been found with plastics in their stomachs. When they ingest plastic, marine life has a 50% mortality rate. By asking for no straw when placing a drink order, I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) of out of the ocean each day.

    Parke Diem - Volunteer Opportunity

    Friday, October 12
    9am-12pm

Seize the day - and the trees! - by volunteering at Parke Diem at Hoyt Arboretum. Join other tree enthusiasts for a morning of trail work, invasive species removal, weeding, mulching and more to prepare the arboretum for the winter season. Volunteers should come dressed for the weather and be prepared to get dirty in a pair of long pants and sturdy, closed toe shoes. Training, tools and gloves are provided; no previous experience is necessary. This is a family-friendly volunteer opportunity.

Registration is required. Please sign up here

Questions? Please contact Becky at (503) 823-1649 or volunteer@hoytarboretum.org.

I am collecting boxes to be reused later. So if anybody has any boxes delivered to our office (paper, personal boxes, etc.), please send the empty boxes my way so I can reuse them.
