  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Exercise Daily
How can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?

    Boss Povieng 10/06/2018 4:28 PM
I spend most of my day at work indoors. Transitioning to a workout plan involving runs by the lakefront with my fiancé sounds like a great idea especially considering our running weather won’t be lasting too much longer.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy Heat and Cool Naturally
What are other ways you could use the power of the sun to reduce your own environmental footprint?

    Boss Povieng's avatar
    Boss Povieng 10/06/2018 4:24 PM
Installing solar panels and growing herbs by the window are a few ideas to start taking advantage of our daily sunlight!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Forage for My Food
Amongst the motivations for foraging are: a source of food; means of income; connecting with nature; cultural tradition; or transmitting "local ecological knowledge, and a means for stewarding local and native plant populations" (McLain et al. 2012, 13). Which of these would be your chief motivation and why?

My driving motivation would be “culturaltradition.”  I believe that urban foraging and urban farming is a great sustainable means of not only bringing more accessible food to cities but also a great way to bring urban dwellers closer to nature. Fostering this new urban culture is a step in the write direction!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

Have alot  of student loans that will be getting paid off just that much faster!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Go Paperless
Reducing your paper mail can be such a freeing action to take -- by reducing what is coming in, you can reduce what is going into the recycling bin too. How does it make you feel? What is the next step you will take to reduce your waste?

    Boss Povieng's avatar
    Boss Povieng 10/05/2018 6:27 PM
Less clutter and more accessible notifications from the click of a button off the phone! Next step for me is to  tackle reducing my disposable plastic use!

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Waste Use a Reusable Water Bottle
While water bottles serve an important role in places for health and safety, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. Can you identify the barriers in making this a new habit? How can you set yourself up for success in making this a permanent change?

Main challenge to using a reusable bottle? Carrying it around everywhere you go can be inconvenient but the pros far outweigh the cons. Not only do I tend to stay hydrated when I carry my bottle but saving more plastic from being unnecessarily is a plus
