  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Explore My Area
How can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place?

This question is something I have been thinking about for a while. Being outdoors not only helps you understand your environment, but the more time you spend in that environment, the more you see the changes within that environment. As you spend time outdoors, you can make connections with other places that you may have been familiar with in other areas in the world, discover similarities and differences, and feel more at home.

So far, it's going well for me. I have downloaded an app to track my social media and I now understand how much time I spend on my phone overall. I have also learned more about my spending habits by just writing them down. I am walking on my 30 minute work out. I am also exploring my area but don't feel that I have completed the task yet. It's been a great challenge so far.

I definitely need to download an app to help me reduce my screen time.

How can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?

I could consider other activities as exercise, such as joining a dance/yoga/BARR class with friends, or going on a hike with friends could also be my exercise.

This is going to take a bit of planning, but I am up for the challenge. I am going to put a reminder on my calendar to power down at a certain time every night. This will also help me leave the office at a consistent time. I am going to switch off personal computers too.

Challenge accepted! I'm looking forward to using this month and to becoming more mindful about the decisions I make with my time, money and resources.
