How can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?

I combine my exercise with my time outside to be more connected with the natural world and the seasons.

    Simplicity Buy Used Clothes
Do people with economic privilege have a responsibility to consume and own less? How can the concept of "reduce" be presented to those who may be struggling to have enough food, clothes, shelter?

Having been someone who spent years in poverty, it is insulting to tell someone who doesn't have enough to "reduce". By default, those who are relying on food stamps, food boxes (not the cool CASA boxes), and government aid have already reduced. When you are so poor that a drink from Starbucks puts you in the red, you already buy second hand clothes. You already use everything until it is completely worn out. You keep you phone until the buttons are broken and you can't read the screen.

Reducing isn't an issue for the poor! They aren't the consumers in the first place.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Use a Reusable Mug
Maybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reuseable one but it's just hard to make the switch. Think about what stands in your way of making this a habit. By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?

A challenge for me in using reusable drinking containers, bottles or cups, is not having one when I am away from my house. Another challenge is that almost none of them are machine washable.

How is creativity necessary for practicing simplicity?

Creativity is necessary for practicing simplicity in order to be able to see how to fully utilize the things you already have and to realize how to re-purpose things that were thought to be trash.
