I knew the avoiding refined sugar was going to be the hardest challenge I undertook this month--because sugar is in everything! I stood in the grocery store aisle for a good 15 minutes reading the ingredient lists of broth to make sure I bought one that did not contain sugar. Yikes!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Limit Social Media
Social media is a great way to keep us connected with loved ones, makes us laugh, and helps us to learn new things. It can also take more time than we realize or intend to give. After doing this action for a few days now, how do you feel? What do you notice?

I started setting my phone down and not having it on me at all times. This has helped me not cut down on the number of minutes I spend on social media, but also has helped me be more "in tune" with what is happening around me. (Though I admit, I still reflexively reach for it when I'm starting to get a little bit bored.)
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Avoid refined sugar
Before you started this challenge, did you think you were 'addicted' to sugar? How do you feel now?

I know I'm 'addicted' to sugar, because it's what I crave when I am feeling stressed or overwhelmed. I'm anticipating that the first week of this challenge is going to be the most frustrating/challenging...because I'll have to totally switch up my routine. Eek!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Use a Reusable Mug
Maybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reuseable one but it's just hard to make the switch. Think about what stands in your way of making this a habit. By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?

I love my "office mug," it makes my morning cup of coffee feel a little more special than a white paper cup.
