Waste
Reduce Single-Use Disposables
Historically, marginalized and low-income communities live closer to landfills, contributing to a multitude of health problems. I will find out how I can limit single-use items and do my best to limit the waste I generate.
Nature
Support Local Pollinators
At least 30% of crops and 90% of flowering plants rely on pollinators to produce fruit. I will spend 10 minutes researching which plants support local native pollinators and plant some in my yard.

Kari Rothi 10/04/2018 1:42 PMIn researching toxic cleaning products, I found this to be informative: https://www.organicconsumers.org/news/how-toxic-are-your-household-cleaning-supplies. "In 2000, cleaning products were responsible for nearly 10% of all toxic exposures reported to U.S. Poison Control Centers" ... 58% of these toxic exposures were children under six. "The most acutely dangerous cleaning products are corrosive drain cleaners, oven cleaners, and acidic toilet bowl cleaners." Besides the usual dangers, "one-third of the substances used in the fragrance industry are toxic." So some cleaners actually have a double whammy. The end of this article lists multiple safe (or safer) products for all kinds of cleaning situations. Very practical and doesn't require a degree in chemistry to understand! -
