Milan's actions

Health

Exercise Daily

Exercise is a great stress blaster! I will exercise for 25 minute(s) each day.

COMPLETED 10
DAILY ACTIONS

Waste

Skip the Straw

Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 3 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.

Use a Reusable Water Bottle

I will keep 1 disposable plastic bottle(s) from entering the waste stream by using a reusable water bottle.

COMPLETED 10

Transportation

Use Public Transit

I will use public transit 15 mile(s) each day and avoid sending up to 14.52 lbs of CO2 into Earth's atmosphere.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Waste Use a Reusable Water Bottle
While water bottles serve an important role in places for health and safety, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. Can you identify the barriers in making this a new habit? How can you set yourself up for success in making this a permanent change?

Barriers would be laziness to carry a water bottle everywhere when you can conveniently buy one anywhere. However setting the priorities right and making sure i carry a bottle everywhere.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Skip the Straw
How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?

Got my Ceramic mug to office which i would be using to refill and no straws as can drink directly from the mug / glass.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation Use Public Transit
The US spends roughly 20% of its federal budget on defense. In contrast, 2% goes to education, 20% goes to social security and 3% goes to transportation infrastructure. Do these numbers surprise you at all? Why or why not?

    Milan Saxena's avatar
    Milan Saxena 10/02/2018 8:42 PM
Yes they definitely do. Since public infra is something which affects everyone and even the generations to come still the focus is on defence which is one of the most unlikely events.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Exercise Daily
How can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?

    Milan Saxena 10/02/2018 8:41 PM
Yes i am still able to do that. Probably the time i cut is one i wasted surfing internet or watching TV.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Healthy Sleep
Consider how many hours of sleep you get now. How would you like to shift your sleep patterns? What are you finding works for you to be successful in this action?

I took a 8 hrs sleep today and feel much more rejuvenated. I would like to change my sleep pattern to sleep at 10-10.30 pm and take at 6-6.30 am that was i could get a lot more work done.
