Linden's actions
Health
Take Control
Both system and personal sustainability are important! I will develop a plan with my medical professionals to achieve my best health and live my life to the fullest.
Simplicity
Meditate
I will meditate or create a moment of silence for 20 minute(s) each day to reflect on things important to me.
Nature
Go for a Daily Walk
I will take a 20-minute walk outside each day.
Food
Watch a Documentary about Food Sovereignty
I will watch 1 documentary(ies) about food sovereignty: the right of local peoples to control their own food systems including markets, ecological resources, food cultures and production methods.
Water
Say No to Plastic Straws
An estimated 71% of seabirds and 30% of turtles have been found with plastics in their stomachs. When they ingest plastic, marine life has a 50% mortality rate. By asking for no straw when placing a drink order, I will keep 2 plastic straw(s) of out of the ocean each day.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

REFLECTION QUESTIONWater Say No to Plastic StrawsWhat single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?
Linden Shaw 10/03/2018 1:39 PMStraws, Cups and plastic bags. for a straw i will be getting a "metal" one. I will start using the hydro flask that i already have rather then disposable cups. and for plastic bags, I already use a hand basket that you find at grocery stores. -
Linden Shaw 10/03/2018 12:58 PMI forgot how to sign into this. Now that I am back and since I have signed up I have been working hard on meeting my goals (thought it would be more easy then I am finding out due to health and distractions) getting out side each day and learning how to meditate has been a positive difference in my life and something I will strive to continue each day of my life. Good luck to each of you and have fun! -
