Linda's actions
Health
Healthy Sleep
Effectively working for sustainability requires self care! I will commit to getting 15 more minute(s) of sleep each night to achieve at least 7 hours per night.
Waste
Use a Reusable Water Bottle
I will keep 4 disposable plastic bottle(s) from entering the waste stream by using a reusable water bottle.
Health
Happiness
I will write down three things every day that I am grateful for, or send one email every day thanking or praising someone.
Health
Exercise Daily
Exercise is a great stress blaster! I will exercise for 60 minute(s) each day.
Waste
Skip the Straw
Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 3 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Healthy SleepConsider how many hours of sleep you get now. How would you like to shift your sleep patterns? What are you finding works for you to be successful in this action?
Linda Silva 10/22/2018 1:41 PMI would like to have healthier sleeping patterns. 7-8 hours of sleep at night is essential for me as a student athlete, especially since studies have shown that athlete with better sleeping schedules are less prone to injury. Sleeping at a decent time, allows me to get enough sleep and be able to wake up early the next day to be productive. -
Linda Silva 10/22/2018 1:34 PMNot using items, like straws and plastic bags, has helped me realized how unnecessary to my daily tasks they are. I will continue to reflect and filter out any plastics I do not absolutely need in my day to day activities. -

REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use a Reusable Water BottleWhile water bottles serve an important role in places for health and safety, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. Can you identify the barriers in making this a new habit? How can you set yourself up for success in making this a permanent change?
Linda Silva 10/12/2018 9:31 AMBarriers that prevent making this a new habit could be not having designated spots to refill the water bottle when necessary. Sometimes its not so easy taking in an already filled bottle to certain destinations and therefore making purchasing a new bottle inevitable. To set myself up for success, I will stop buying bottled water and carry a reusable water wherever I can.
