Lorri's actions
Health
Avoid refined sugar
I will adopt a diet free of refined sugars, which eliminates sweetened beverages, candy, and processed foods.
Waste
Skip the Straw
Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.
Food
Whole Foods Diet
I will enjoy 1 meal(s) each day free of processed foods.

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Whole Foods DietMichael Pollan states that "it is better to pay the grocer (our edit: or the farmer!) than the doctor." What are your thoughts on this?
Lorri Strickland 10/17/2018 8:43 AMWhat you put in, is what you get out. If you eat crappy you feel crappy, if you eat healthy and have a balanced diet you feel more healthy and balanced and are more apt to take part in more healthy activities. I look at it as "paying attention to myself"! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Avoid refined sugarBefore you started this challenge, did you think you were 'addicted' to sugar? How do you feel now?
Lorri Strickland 10/16/2018 8:29 AMNo sugar in the coffee can seem rough at first but after awhile I don't really miss it! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Skip the StrawHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?
