REFLECTION QUESTIONWater Conserve Toilet WaterWhat would a sustainable water future in your region look like? What needs to change?
Stacy Strickland 10/23/2018 3:37 PMI love the advances of low flow and automatic faucets. We need those be everywhere. And personally, I need a shower head that automatically turns off after 5 minutes for those days when I want to hang out longer... -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Disconnect from EmailNotice how much time you were spending checking email away from work and make note of that. Now that you have stepped away from it and have not been checking, what changes are you noticing in your thoughts, use of time, stress and energy levels?
Stacy Strickland 10/18/2018 1:18 PMI find that I can be more focused when I'm not constantly checking my emails (or social media!) I like being more present during conversations with friends/family due to not multi-tasking... and feeling like I have the time to participate in more mindful activities. Yay for balance! -
Stacy Strickland 10/03/2018 1:18 PMI began my journey to a zero waste lifestyle in January 2014. While I'm almost at the five year mark, it does not mean that I live a complete zero waste lifestyle. I joined this challenge to work on a few areas where I still have opportunity. Plus, it is always refreshing to see where others are on their journey as it is a great reminder that we all have a different path to living more sustainably. :) -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Advocate For More Food Packaging OptionsWhat concerns you the most about how we are affecting the planet? Consider both local and global actions.
Stacy Strickland 10/03/2018 1:09 PMWe only have one planet and the linear economy we created has filled it with garbage, negatively impacted other species and is slowly having negative consequences for us. The challenging part is that scientific research and simple observations have identified what we can do to lessen the damage... yet people are in denial and slow to act. Unfortunately, time, like resources, is not unlimited. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth HappinessHow does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?
Stacy Strickland 10/03/2018 1:06 PMIt helps me make sure that I'm not caught up in day-to-day routines, and it gives me a chance to step back to look at the bigger picture. -
Stacy Strickland 10/03/2018 1:00 PMDay One! And I'm going to use one of my actions to thank @Jamie Lomax for being such an inspiration to Partners for Sustainability and encouraging us to do this challenge... Every small step is an important one. Thank you for reminding us of that!
