Neisha's actions
Waste
Launch a Recycling Program
I will start a recycling program at my workplace or school. If a recycling program exists, I will advocate for ways to improve and expand it.
Health
Learn About Local Environmental Justice Concerns
I will spend 60 minutes researching environmental justice concerns in my region, their causes, and local initiatives to address these concerns.
Waste
Compost Food Waste
I will avoid sending up to .69 lbs (.31 kg) of food waste to the landfill each day by composting my food or learning how to.
Waste
Use Reusable Bags
I will not accept any disposable bags when making purchases.
Waste
Use a Reusable Water Bottle
I will keep 1 disposable plastic bottle(s) from entering the waste stream by using a reusable water bottle.
Waste
Skip the Straw
Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.
Waste
Reduce Single-Use Disposables
Historically, marginalized and low-income communities live closer to landfills, contributing to a multitude of health problems. I will find out how I can limit single-use items and do my best to limit the waste I generate.
Food
Watch a Documentary about Food Sovereignty
I will watch 10 documentary(ies) about food sovereignty: the right of local peoples to control their own food systems including markets, ecological resources, food cultures and production methods.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Launch a Recycling ProgramHow might thinking creatively help us address big systems problems differently?
Neisha Sultanti 10/03/2018 9:59 PMI have thinking of ways to recycle things at work. I have already started with paper by re-using the same paper again and again until I find new ways of recycling. -

Neisha Sultanti 10/01/2018 12:19 AMReusing post stick notes at work instead of throwing them away. Instead of writing with a pen, I am writing with a pencil and erasing it each time I need to use it again. I do not whether this is useful but atleast I am reducing paper waste.
