Anne Swanson 10/13/2018 8:31 PMWow is it hard to meditate! I am using an alarm on my phone to remind me to do so and if I were not using an alarm I would forget. It is not a habit yet but I am doing it. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNatureHow can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place?
Anne Swanson 10/05/2018 8:34 AMI am actually afraid of the outdoors after spending a large part of my life in a major metropolitan city. It has become the area where bears and psycho-killers live in my mind. However, living in Oregon has made the outdoors part of my reality and I am coming to embrace being outside with hiking/walking activities. I still don't belong to/in this place but you have to grow where you are planted even if the soil seems inhospitable or incompatible to your roots. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityIn what ways can you create more real, face-to-face interactions with friends — or strangers — each week?
Anne Swanson 10/05/2018 8:29 AMJohn and I have committed to participating in two of our building events this month: Mimosa Sunday and Pizza Night - so I hope to meet many new neighbors and make new friends in our complex. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicityWhat would you like to invest more time in reflecting on?

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealthHow do you deal with the physical and emotional stress of the big problems we face? How can you help others cope?
Anne Swanson 10/03/2018 9:33 AMI read my news vs. watching my news as we do not own a television. This allows for reflection and absorption at my own pace. I also exercise with my partner in group classes which builds community and a sense of belonging as well as burning off anxiety and worry. -
Anne Swanson 10/03/2018 9:22 AMFound a new doctor, had a physical and got a flu shot. My last cholesterol reading was 212 - here's hoping that it has improved this time!-
