I exercise, eat well, play with my dogs, laugh, spend time with family and friends, sleep and I make a point to do one thing for myself 2 - 3 times a week - sometimes it is just closing the bedroom door for 5 minutes and try not to stress and worry about things I can't control

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health More Fruits and Veggies
What do you think contributes to people in North America eating more meat than any other places, and what does this say about North American values and ways of living? How can we start shifting from a meat-focused food culture to a more plant-based one?

Protein is the building block of life.  I believe lean protein should be included in the diet.  Meat has become a convenience.....fast food, eating out, snacks etc. has made our fast-paced lives easier to manage.  It is a custom to consume meat products.  I believe education is the key to leading a healthier lifestyle; exercise more, less stress, mindfulness and yes, to include more plant-based food options.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Avoid refined sugar
Before you started this challenge, did you think you were 'addicted' to sugar? How do you feel now?

    Jody Tague's avatar
    Jody Tague 10/04/2018 5:53 AM

I wouldn't say I'm addicted as I've been off sugar for a few years.  I chose it as a challenge as I was invited to a gathering with neighbors and used the challenge as an additional incentive to continue avoiding sugar.
