REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use Reusable BagsWhat do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reuseable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to establish this a successful habit?
Abilities Unlimited 10/09/2018 1:48 PMIf we forget a bag, depending on how many things are being bought first choice would be to simply carry the items out with you. A system that could help ensure that one has a reusable bag would be once emptied at home to put it near the most often used door, or back in common transportation. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use a Reusable Water BottleWhile water bottles serve an important role in places for health and safety, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. Can you identify the barriers in making this a new habit? How can you set yourself up for success in making this a permanent change?
Abilities Unlimited 10/05/2018 10:37 AMSome barriers for this are forgetting our bottles at home or forgetting to wash them. Makig sure to wash them the night before or keeping them in a place where they will be seen and remembered will increase the chances of remembering to use them more frequently. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Turn it offHow is electricity generated where you live? How does it impact the environment, animals, and humans?
Abilities Unlimited 10/04/2018 1:51 PMElectricity is generated through natural gas. Compared to burning coal or oil it is cleaner but there are controversies about using it and it's impact on the environment. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use a Reusable MugMaybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reuseable one but it's just hard to make the switch. Think about what stands in your way of making this a habit. By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?
Abilities Unlimited 10/04/2018 7:41 AMThe impact I'm making makes me feel good, and our team is proud to be helping the environment by not filling the landfills quite a quickly! GO TEAM! -
