REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Healthy SleepConsider how many hours of sleep you get now. How would you like to shift your sleep patterns? What are you finding works for you to be successful in this action?
Cassandra Urban 10/19/2018 6:04 AMBefore this challenge, I would go to bed between 11pm and 12am, and get up at 5:30am. And I realized, by the time the weekend rolled around, I would be exhausted! By doing this challenge, I am more aware of what time I go to bed. I now aim at 10pm and it has been working better for me. I have more energy for the weekend now! -
Cassandra Urban 10/12/2018 8:45 AMThis is my first year joining the challenge so I wanted to pick challenges that I either didn't already do, or that I could improve on. I have learned a lot doing this challenge and I would definitely like to do this again next year! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Audit Toxic Cleaning Products in my HomeTo what extent do you believe that environmental factors contribute to your own health or issues with health?
Cassandra Urban 10/12/2018 8:29 AMI have asthma, due to many allergies (all environmental) that I have, and if I'm not careful with what cleaning products I use it may cause me to have an asthma attack. Even at work, when my co-workers want to wipe down their desks, etc. they have to warn me, so I can leave the area, or use a cleaner that is non toxic. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use Reusable BagsWhat do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reuseable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to establish this a successful habit?
Cassandra Urban 10/10/2018 6:54 AMSometimes, if I don't have my reusable bags with me, I will ask for paper or a box and then I try to reuse it at home, or put it in my recycling bin. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Smart Seafood ChoicesMany states and countries have advisories on eating fish. Find out what is advised for your region. Do you think your diet choices fall within these guidelines? What steps do you need to take to make sure that they do?
Cassandra Urban 10/03/2018 8:12 AMI am a firm believer that "You are what you eat". If you eat healthy organic produce, free range, grass-fed, hormone free meat and poultry, and sustainable seafood, you will look and feel great. I already order from a farm (butcher) to table company that ships right to my doorstep! And now I am looking for a community supported fishery that does the same thing. -
Cassandra Urban 9/20/2018 8:44 AMMy 14 year old daughter, who wants to be an environmental scientist, is my mentor. Everyday, she inspires and encourages me to make positive healthier, greener choices. Our motto is BE THE CHANGE!-
Scott Beckerman 10/01/2018 8:53 AMGreat to hear; our young people give me so much hope for the future!
