Say No to Plastic Straws

An estimated 71% of seabirds and 30% of turtles have been found with plastics in their stomachs. When they ingest plastic, marine life has a 50% mortality rate. By asking for no straw when placing a drink order, I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) of out of the ocean each day.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food
Michael Pollan states that "it is better to pay the grocer (our edit: or the farmer!) than the doctor." What are your thoughts on this?

Yes, I agree. It's better to invest in organic fruits and vegetables and unprocessed foods that may cost more and be on the preventative side versus paying medical bills related to unhealthy eating.

And, as I'm discovering, as we age the consequence of our eating habits multiply each year.  Michael Pollan is so right!
