REFLECTION QUESTIONHealthHow can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?
Mandy Vandeberg 10/22/2018 1:38 PMGo on walks outdoors with friends or join an exercise class with friends. Plan a quarterly hike at a new trail each quarter so that you can see your friends and at the same get some exercise and nature in. My friends and I do this in Door County - but only once a year. There are many outdoor parks and trails to explore. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicityWhat did you notice in implementing this challenge? Was it hard to choose other activities over screen time? How did you decide to spend your time?
Mandy Vandeberg 10/22/2018 1:36 PMThis was easy for me. I love to read and find that screen time cuts into my reading time- so I was extra diligent that I turn off the TV or phone 15-30 minutes earlier so that I can get some reading in before I go to bed. This is something that I plan to keep up long term and increase the reading time day by day. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealthHow does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?
Mandy Vandeberg 10/22/2018 1:33 PMBy being thankful for others and appreciating their impact in your life, it helps you to be happier and that energy helps you in turn be a blessing to others. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicityMindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How do your eating experiences differ when practicing mindfulness?
Mandy Vandeberg 10/22/2018 1:31 PMI find that I appreciate the food more- taste and quality and it is more relaxing rather than trying to do cross off another task on the list, or not thinking about the fact that I am eating as well.
