Waste

Skip the Straw

Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 2 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.

When my husband and I dine out, we always ask to not have straws in our beverages. While we are just two people making this simple change, we know it's a step in the right direction and one that helps make a positive impact on our environment.

I have three main reusable water bottles in my life; one at home next to my bed, one in my car, and one at work. While some complain that refilling and washing them between uses is a pain, it's a habit that was easy to create and maintain, especially knowing the positive impact it would have on reducing waste.
