Food Try a New Way to Prep
Canning and pickling food is a great way to have delicious summer fruits and vegetables all year round. Just make sure to follow the canning and pickling guidelines from the USDA. What are some foods that you would like to preserve and enjoy later in the year?

I already pickle things...most cucumbers in the summer, but I have started pickling cabbage (not fermenting, not making sauerkraut), and look forward to being able to do that in the winter.  I use my sous vide set up for pickling, and my pickles only last 6 months, so I am missing the pickled cucumber after March; it will be nice to have pickled cabbage in the spring to tide me over til I can get more pickling cucumbers!

    Health Avoid refined sugar
Before you started this challenge, did you think you were 'addicted' to sugar? How do you feel now?

I am struggling so much with this!  I've had a few days free of sugar, and have planned to have more, but it sneaks in sometimes, and other times I seek it out...guess I am addicted!!!  Need to figure out how to better succeed with giving it up!

One technique I read a while back to help with cutting back without entirely giving it up, was to have a 'Sunday sundae', that is, enjoy your indulgence one day a week.  You get to look forward to the treat (which is nice), and by restricting it to one day a week you don't overdo it!  Good luck, and don't give up!

Made yogurt in my Instant Pot!  Then I strained half of it to make it Greek style yogurt--very nice with fruit!

looking forward to the challenge starting to help me refine my focus on changes i want to make...it's easy to think "i'll do it tomorrow" instead of starting now...i chose things that i know i will be able to do, pretty much every day, and that i want to make permanent habits....thanks for this!!!
