    Waste Find Local Recycling Depots
Our ability to recycle certain things ebbs and flows based upon many factors. Luckily there are places that accept uncommon things to recycle or dispose of in a less harmful way. What did you find when looking for places to recycle items that can't be recycled in your curbside bin?

I did find that stores I go to a lot, like Target, collect soft plastics - not just grocery bags, but other soft plastics like bread bags, produce bags, and even zip-lock bags. It would be relatively easily for me to take those items to a recycling bin.

    Food Join a Local CSA
Dependable fresh food, better prices (cutting out carbon-heavy supply chain and grocery stores), supporting local farmers and building resilient communities are just a few benefits of local food systems. Which of these benefits (or others not listed here) inspire you the most?

I'm really looking forward to having seasonal, fresh produce that will inspire me to cook more and try different dishes. I love the idea of getting a variety depending on the season, and I'm hoping to get some produce I haven't cooked with before. The CSA I found also has a blog with recipes that I'm looking forward to trying!

I have scheduled times to access social media - during the carpool to work, and for 20 minutes after dinner. (And sometimes I don't do the 2nd one.) I've also eliminated most social media and limit myself to just one now.

    Transportation Go by Bike
How do your transportation choices affect your engagement in your community? Does your experience differ while walking, riding transit, biking or driving?

When I ride my bike I notice small parts of the city I wouldn't normally see. I find murals and small parks and I even stop to smell the roses. I found a small rose garden near Encanto park tucked away. It was lovely! If I were in a car I never would have found these tiny gems from behind the steering wheel.

I also take my time. I plan my trips and it really is just as convenient as driving if I plan accordingly. Also, I am less grumpy from rush hour traffic.

Exploring a new hiking trail gave me a new appreciation for the part of Phoenix where I live. We have so many beautiful mountains and buttes!

Nature Go for a Daily Walk
How do you experience your neighborhood or city differently when walking instead of driving?

I really enjoy walking around my neighborhood instead of driving. When I drive through the neighborhood, there are a lot of things that I miss. Each house is different and has different artwork, landscape, plants, and more. I am able to take in all these different aspects while I walk at a leisurely pace!

    Waste Go Paperless
Reducing your paper mail can be such a freeing action to take -- by reducing what is coming in, you can reduce what is going into the recycling bin too. How does it make you feel? What is the next step you will take to reduce your waste?

It feels really good to know I'm not going to have a ton of paper bills in the mail anymore! I'm going to be more diligent about getting myself off mailing lists and paying past due bills so that I can reduce my paper mail even more.

My favorite part about biking to work is the awesome things you find along the way. I will be documenting murals and art as I go!

    Simplicity De-Clutter My Home
How can you prevent yourself from accumulating more things in the future?

My plan is to limit the available storage space and create a schedule where I declutter 1 room each month - this is my 3rd month doing this and it feels AMAZING.

I got rid of an entire closet this weekend! I think without the space to store stuff we accumulate less stuff. Awesome job!!
