Many times I rode my bike I actually doubled those miles, as I generally commute to work, then home to get the dog out, then back to work, then back home at the end of the day.

The one use bags end up becoming a waste problem, even with nearly all of them in my area being paper, even with all the other uses I throw at them - hauling other things, mulch in a garden, making book covers, wadding up and using as fire starter. I bought a Kill-A-Watt and it's telling me about the power draw of various plug in appliances. The thing that I want to know from this is not so much the power draw while in use but any sort of "phantom" use of power when something seems to be "turned off."

I got a rolling start into the EcoChallenge. The air cleared up from the summer wildfires and so I started cycling more a few weeks back. Rolled into the office on my fat tire BMX today. Oh yeah!
