LESS Feed

BACK TO TEAM PAGE

Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

I realized once the day was done that I had forgotten to shut down my laptop after one of my meetings. I also forgot that I was supposed to be collecting my trash, but tomorrow is a new day. Hopefully my current mistakes will help me remember and be a better steward in the future.

    Waste Compost Food Waste
New to composting? Be sure to check out the action resource links to learn tips and more about it. As you transition from throwing food away to composting, what do you notice about how much you are tossing? Do you know how your compost will be used and the benefits it has on the environment?

This challenge will simultaneously encourage me to seek out compostable single-use packaging whenever it cannot be avoided. A local vendor that I buy vegan meals from uses compostable packaging.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Use a Reusable Mug
Maybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reuseable one but it's just hard to make the switch. Think about what stands in your way of making this a habit. By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?

I can see that other people are taking notice and will comment on the little things that I do differently to make a better impact on the planet. It makes me feel like little actions really can make a big difference. Even if that difference is changing the way that somebody thinks!

    Energy Power Down the Computer
What are other easy things you could do to save energy and reduce your environmental footprint?

I can go behind others to make sure that they are not wasting energy as well.

I decided to add the challenge of collecting all of my non-recyclable or compostable trash. Hopefully, this will help me on my journey to going zero waste!
