Today I walked for about 20 minutes. It felt good to move around after sitting for several hours. I walked up some stairs and could feel it in my legs. It was very good to complete this challenge today.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Eat Mindfully
Mindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How do your eating experiences differ when practicing mindfulness?

Last night I ate my dinner without any distractions. This is hard to do because I like to try to multitask as a way to save some time. Time is such a precious commodity and there are only so many hours in a day. I usually find myself eating while trying to other things, or eating while watching something entertaining. I found that I was able to really enjoy my meal a lot more, to better appreciate the food. Being thankful and appreciative of things in our lives helps create a more positive attitude.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Less Screen Time
What did you notice in implementing this challenge? Was it hard to choose other activities over screen time? How did you decide to spend your time?

My plan is to buy out 30 minutes of screen and use it to complete another challenge on the board, reflective thinking. So buy doing one challenge, it will help me to accomplish another. Is that legal? I think it will be a good swap-out but it may result in some withdrawal symptoms in the beginning. I am going to set an alarm to remind myself to complete this daily.

I joined the challenge because I really want to develop better daily habits. These challenges are very reasonable and a good starting point. Checking in daily will help to keep the habit to stick and help earn points on the board. Very motivating! Overall, being part of a team is also an encouragement to keep up with the challenge. Looking forward to this!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Meditate
What would you like to invest more time in reflecting on?

I would like to invest more time at the end of the day reflecting on the day itself. What went well and what not so well. What were the reasons things did not go well? What can I do differently next time to make it a better day? What are the good things to be grateful for and appreciative of?  How can I mentally prepare better for the next day to ensure a successful day? What do I need to accomplish? To make the time for this activity, I am going to buy out 30 minutes of screen time. I think setting an alarm for this activity to remind me each night would be a good idea.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Simplicity Go for a Daily Walk
Fresh air and movement are good for our entire being and can help us think more clearly and creatively. How does taking a walk each day affect yourself and/or your work?

Fresh air and movement help me to clear my head. I find that getting outside, even if just for a few moments, the stress of the day melts away and I am refreshed and ready to go back inside and get back to work. Bring some fruit or something you can carry with you for lunch and take it with you on your walk instead of sitting in the break room.
