Health
Know My health
I will get my Core Four Biometrics tests (blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar and BMI).
Health
Happiness
I will write down three things every day that I am grateful for, or send one email every day thanking or praising someone.
Waste
Use a Reusable Mug
I will avoid sending 2 disposable cup(s) to the landfill each day by using a reusable mug.
Waste
Use Reusable Bags
I will not accept any disposable bags when making purchases.
Waste
Skip the Straw
Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.

Go get a check up
I will make an appointment for my annual physical.

Rebecca Benton 10/24/2018 5:20 AMI enjoyed this challenge. I will definitely continue these activities going forward -
Rebecca Benton 10/19/2018 9:17 AMNow that my kids are older I have more time for volunteer work and more time to pay attention and change habits that impact the environment. I mainly choose the actions I did because I am hoping to create daily habits out of these little changes, and then move on to add more actions in the future. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use Reusable BagsWhat do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reuseable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to establish this a successful habit?
Rebecca Benton 10/15/2018 6:11 AMIt is so easy to tell the cashier that I don't need a bag. I wish I had started this practice earlier. I hope that cashiers start to ask each customer if they need a bag. Maybe some will stop and say 'no, I really don't need one'.-
Rebecca Benton 10/19/2018 9:12 AMI find myself accepting a bag. I do like the idea of putting the items in a cart and taking them to my car. I will start doing that. I also need to remember take in the reusable bags that I have in my car.

REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use a Reusable MugMaybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reuseable one but it's just hard to make the switch. Think about what stands in your way of making this a habit. By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?
