Delphine's actions
Health
Exercise Daily
Exercise is a great stress blaster! I will exercise for 45 minute(s) each day.
Health
More Fruits and Veggies
I will eat a heart healthy diet by adding 2 cup(s) of fruits and vegetables each day to achieve at least 4 cups per day.
Health
Take Control
Both system and personal sustainability are important! I will develop a plan with my medical professionals to achieve my best health and live my life to the fullest.
Waste
Use a Reusable Water Bottle
I will keep 3 disposable plastic bottle(s) from entering the waste stream by using a reusable water bottle.
Waste
Skip the Straw
Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.
Health
Eliminate Toxic Plastics
I will avoid buying toxic plastics - including polycarbonate, polystyrene and polyvinyl - and instead replace them with bioplastic or durable options.

Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Skip the StrawHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?
Delphine Busch 10/29/2018 5:33 PMI am looking for ways to keep single use plastic out of my home by how I shop. I no longer buy fruit packed in hard plastic trays. I take my own small nylon bags to the store to avoid plastic bags for fresh foods. I use bar soap. But I am looking for ways to stop the flow of plastic bottles into our home. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Take ControlHow do environmental health, community health, and your personal health intersect?

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth More Fruits and VeggiesWhat do you think contributes to people in North America eating more meat than any other places, and what does this say about North American values and ways of living? How can we start shifting from a meat-focused food culture to a more plant-based one?
Delphine Busch 10/26/2018 7:41 PMOne thing I have done to increase my vegetable consumption is to eat vegetable for breakfast. I started b cutting my portions of meat a little at a time. Now I skip meat at most meals. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Exercise DailyHow can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?
Delphine Busch 10/26/2018 7:39 PMI find exercise a great time to pray. I also enjoy the ladies who exercise the same time that I do at my gym. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Eliminate Toxic PlasticsWhat single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?
Delphine Busch 10/26/2018 7:38 PMI have eliminated plastic bags for food storage. I have replaced them with washable nylon bags. Even stains come out with a little oxiclean and soap. -
Delphine Busch 10/08/2018 5:10 PMTaught three adult ladies about plastic impact in the ocean yesterday. Explained about my own plastic promises and the fact that I am keeping them.
