sandra busch 10/25/2018 6:48 AMGreat job Greenies! We placed 117th out of 842 teams worldwide, and 38th out of 187 Oregon teams. Not bad for a team of only 16 members! Thank you to all of you and especially co captain JT for making our team such a success. See you all next year! :) -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWater 5-Minute ShowersFive minute showers are an impressive step toward reducing your water footprint. What is the next step you can take?
sandra busch 10/24/2018 8:34 AMThe 5 minute shower challenge was the hardest challenge yet. I think I managed to complete it only 4-5 times out of the entire 3 week event. But, the fact that I was able to do it was a great accomplishment. The amount of water saved is a great motivator to keep trying even after the EcoChallenge ends. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use a Reusable Water BottleWhile water bottles serve an important role in places for health and safety, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. Can you identify the barriers in making this a new habit? How can you set yourself up for success in making this a permanent change?
sandra busch 10/23/2018 9:22 PMAmerica is a throw away society. Single use water bottles have been a huge hit since day one, with no signs of slowing down. People need to be educated on the plastic crisis. Even though a container has a recycle logo on it, it doesn't mean there's a market or a facility that can recycle it. Having your own reusable water bottles at work, home, car, gym, etc is the best way to reduce consumption of the single use bottle. -
sandra busch 10/23/2018 8:28 AMHi Greenies! Tomorrow (Wednesday) is the last day of the challenge, so hit some goals and enter as much as you can the next two days! As of this morning we were ranked 120th out of 837 teams. Wow! -
sandra busch 10/22/2018 6:44 AMWe went to a restaurant over the weekend that not only brought the whole table glasses of water w/straws already IN them, but every single drink (except beers) came with a straw too! Didn't even have the option to say NO. :( -
