REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Watch a Documentary about Food SovereigntyHow does food sovereignty address the complex agrarian transition to modern food systems?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Advocate for Greener VehiclesReducing (or eliminating) exhaust emissions and improving public health are two benefits of green vehicles. What other motivators inspire you to consider switching to a more fuel-efficient vehicle?
Ada Camp 10/16/2018 9:01 PMI really wish my family could have a more fuel-efficient vehicle, but we don't and I can tell my parents more about them and then maybe we could get one nest time we get a cr. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Buy From a Farmers MarketWhat is one food choice that you make, or could make, that would do more good and less harm?
Ada Camp 10/16/2018 8:59 PMTo eat a lot less beef, which I don't eat that much of, I average about 5 hot dogs a month at most no steak or other beef, but I could try to eat less beef, and definetly less bread! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Learn More about Food DesertsWhat are the implications of access to nutritious food for a community?
Ada Camp 10/16/2018 8:58 PMWell, Conclusions that can be drawn are that most community have a local farmers market where they can get healthy nutritious food to eat. Also at least 1 person in each community is advocating for healthier food choices, so I think that community's are slowly being turned to eat more healthy food. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Support Native CommunitiesIndigenous speaker and activist Winona LaDuke says that, "most indigenous ceremonies, if you look to their essence, are about the restoration of balance — they are a reaffirmation of our relationship to creation. That is our intent: to restore, and then to retain balance and honor our part in creation." Why is balance important to sustainability?

REFLECTION QUESTIONWater Mulch the Base of Trees and PlantsWhere are your nearest natural bodies of water? How might they be affected by runoff?
Ada Camp 10/16/2018 8:30 PMI think I have a creek near my house, and if water runs into it and makes it higher the bank could overflow and some peoples houses could be flouded -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Have a Garage SaleBuilding community is good for your soul and fun to do! What were some of the positive outcomes that came out of your group garage sale?
Ada Camp 10/16/2018 8:29 PMPeople can get more stuff they need for a cheaper price, and people can meet new people in the community -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Explore My AreaHow can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place?
Ada Camp 10/16/2018 8:28 PMI can learn what animals I am neighbors with, learn what trees or plants surround my home, and just be more aware of my surroundings and notice if there are any rare species in your life -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Try a New Way to PrepCanning and pickling food is a great way to have delicious summer fruits and vegetables all year round. Just make sure to follow the canning and pickling guidelines from the USDA. What are some foods that you would like to preserve and enjoy later in the year?
Ada Camp 10/16/2018 8:27 PMI would like to preserve peaches, and necterines. I have also been baking a lot of bread with my mom and my sister when she comes home from college. We constantly have sourdough starter in our fridge.
