REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Use Public TransitThe US spends roughly 20% of its federal budget on defense. In contrast, 2% goes to education, 20% goes to social security and 3% goes to transportation infrastructure. Do these numbers surprise you at all? Why or why not?
Chris Crockett 10/05/2018 3:27 PMThe better question is where is the other 55% and what is it going towards? I don't have enough context to be outraged like this question wants me to be.

REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Conduct Virtual MeetingsHow can you ensure that your virtual meetings honor your values and your company's culture?
Chris Crockett 10/05/2018 3:24 PMI don't understand this question....
By not doing anything that violates my values or my company's culture, I guess? -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Work from HomeIt takes the average worker in the United States 26 minutes to travel to work. One way to fix long commutes would be to make cities more affordable. An even simpler option: promote the use of telework. Are you in an industry that would allow you to work from home? What are some obstacles you might find yourself facing while working from home?
Chris Crockett 10/05/2018 3:21 PMSo I CAN work from home and I just talked to my boss about it. "What barriers?" he said with semi-irritation. "Work from home. I don't care."
Okay he didn't actually say that, but it should be easy to work from home. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth HappinessHow does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?
Chris Crockett 10/05/2018 3:03 PMYou're in heaven or hell depending on what your mind focuses on. Practicing gratitude helps us see the light. And we'll work a little harder to make the reality we feel become the reality we see. Boom. I'm Buddha. Feel free to make this a bumper sticker. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Reduce Animal ProductsWhat do you think contributes to people in North America eating more meat than in other places, and what does this say about North American values and ways of living? How do we start shifting a meat-focused food culture?
Chris Crockett 10/05/2018 3:01 PMMeat is really available and cheap. Not sure if that actually says anything culturally other than a testament to the degree of separation we have from our food. Either making meat more expensive across the board: MEAT TAX; or making people uncomfortable with the idea of how that meat ends up on their table. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Weekly Meal PlanningAn average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Does this surprise you? Where would you rather use this money?
Chris Crockett 10/05/2018 2:59 PMThat's crazay! I think about my student loans and cry at the thought of throwing away that money. I need to get out of debt yesterday.
