REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Adjust the ThermostatYour utility company is able to tell you your average energy usage. Ask them how your energy usage compares to others in your zipcode, and in your state. What other steps can you take each day to reduce your electricity usage?
Molly Dwyer 10/05/2018 10:39 AMMy roommate and I have started turning our room temperature up when we are not in the room during the day, and cooling it back down, or opening a window at night. Although it is not very comfortable at first when we come back from class, we know it is the right thing to do. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Needs Vs. WantsHow is creativity necessary for practicing simplicity?
Molly Dwyer 10/05/2018 10:37 AMCreativity is necessary for practicing simplicity because you need to be able to figure out multiple uses for certain items. My roommate and I were going to buy big poster board paper to review for our psych exam, but instead, we went to a classroom and used a chalk board. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use a Reusable MugMaybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reuseable one but it's just hard to make the switch. Think about what stands in your way of making this a habit. By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?
Molly Dwyer 10/05/2018 10:36 AMIt feels good. It was much easier than I expected it to be. I now just carry my water bottle around with me everywhere I go, especially to dinner. I am using much less plastic than I did before, and it feels good. I still need to work on my Starbucks drinks, however.
