""Perhaps the Skywoman story endures because we too are always falling. Our lives, both personal and collective, share her trajectory. Whether we jump or are pushed, or hte edge of the known world just crumbles at our feet, we fall, spinning into space into someplace new and unexpected. Despite our fears of falling, the gifts of the world stand by to catch us." ~Robin Wall Kimmerer"

    Simplicity Needs Vs. Wants
How is creativity necessary for practicing simplicity?

Creativity is the backbone of simplicity. In it's basic form say you need a container for your idea for an indoor herb garden. You could hop on amazon or head to a your local big box store and buy some factory made, cheap craftsmanship container for a trendy indoor herb garden. OR you could find items around your house, scrap wood, unused containers and put together your own functional and grow your herbs!

    Nature Practice Gratitude for Earth
Kathleen Dean Moore says that a sense of gratitude leads to a sense of moral obligation. Do you agree? How do we cultivate a sense of gratitude as individuals, and as a society?

I see gratitude as a virtue. It is cultivated by mindfulness and peaceful living. This is a challenge in our world. People are driven to acquire worldly things that do nothing but wreck the planet with waste, consumerism, corporate greed... the list goes on. So, embracing the virtue of gratitude can be cultivated by letting go.

    Community Support Native Communities
Indigenous speaker and activist Winona LaDuke says that, "most indigenous ceremonies, if you look to their essence, are about the restoration of balance — they are a reaffirmation of our relationship to creation. That is our intent: to restore, and then to retain balance and honor our part in creation." Why is balance important to sustainability?

Balance is vital to sustainability. Examples of imbalance would be horrid factory "farms" versus finding the beautiful symbiosis of small local ecologically minded farms that work with the land and all that is within it. Balance is also found in sourcing our meals from food sources grown locally and seasonally. The earth when cared for provides for all our needs.

Challenges are going well. I'd like to explore a few more that are out of my normal routine. I'm reading Braiding Sweetgrass and it's really waking me to the true interconnectedness of all things

Today, we took a trail ride, together in the woods. What a way to connect with each other and with nature. We're camping which is also a lovely way to reduce our impact on the earth and increase our connection with the earth.

By providing an intentional focus on the positive in my life, it deters my thoughts from sitting in the negative space.

I have an office job, I manage student records...it's all paper. Anytime I can double side print, I have and will continue to minimize the amount of paper I use.
