  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Spend Time Outside
Rachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?

Yes, I find that I am more relaxed and less stressed the more time I spend outside. Nature is calming!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health More Fruits and Veggies
What do you think contributes to people in North America eating more meat than any other places, and what does this say about North American values and ways of living? How can we start shifting from a meat-focused food culture to a more plant-based one?

I think Americans eat more meat because of the accessibility and financial ability to obtain it. Also, other countries beliefs don't allow them to eat meat so they are strickly vegetarian.

The challenge is going well. Most days I exceed my expectations and it is fun learning the different eco friendly ways to include in my day to day living.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Water 5-Minute Showers
Five minute showers are an impressive step toward reducing your water footprint. What is the next step you can take?

I could save water further by not showering every day!

    Food Whole Foods Diet
Michael Pollan states that "it is better to pay the grocer (our edit: or the farmer!) than the doctor." What are your thoughts on this?

Agreed!  Nutrition is so important to good health. You are what you eat!
